Every year, I take a short trip from Seattle to Skagit Valley, hoping to find a unique perspective I haven’t seen before. Here’s what happened during this year’s short adventure with friends:

During a scouting trip the day before the sunrise photos, a kitten cautiously hopped between the rows of tulips as we watched.
Flags
While we waited for the sun to rise, I noticed that the sea of tulips was waving proudly in the gentle breeze like a flag.
Morning Glow
The fleeting glow of the sun peeking out from behind the low-lying clouds was a sight to behold, but a lone baby tulip caught my eye while it was illuminated by the few rays that snuck between the larger tulips that towered over it.
